CHOICE

We often say "only God can judge me" and that is very correct. I am of the opinion that that might be one of the singular fundamental truths we have decided to talk ourselves into believing, in fact we have convinced ourselves so much so that when others have differing opinions (especially the negative ones) about us, our actions and statements, we quickly draw the "only God can judge me" line, arguably out of guilty conscience or the knowledge that the comment or criticism is/was right (especially when it is coming from a person we perceive as an "enemy of progress"). 

Like most things we say or reaffirm to ourselves, we basically do not know the gravity, weight or load such carries. I know most times we use such statements as catch-phrases or sayings we are accustomed to hearing/using and sometimes it even comes out without us consciously knowing.

Talking about God being the only one who can judge us goes beyond just a statement, I see it from this angle, if only God can judge us and no man can that means He has something already given or laid down with which He can use in the judgment, I am no lawyer but I know for something to be judged, that means there was a law, statute or instruction to be followed and violation of such is what leads to the courts, now the courts or Judge will not use anything other than that which has already been stipulated for the particular case brought before the court. The same applies to this case, God is going to judge us, as we rightly always admit, based on the laws, statutes and instructions He has laid down, (mind you even here on earth, it is not compulsory we adhere to all that was itemized in the constitutions and laws) that is why we are "judged". We are given options and the power to choose whether to follow, obey or not to obey. The power of choice is what is being used against us in our daily courts today, and believe you me, or not, that is the same thing that will be used at the end of the day to judge us. 

I personally see no reason why there will be law if there was no chaos and disorder, and I believe Moses was handed down the Ten Commandments because it was necessary at that time so as to address the state and situation the of Israelites. Now, I also understand that certain laws have to be reviewed/updated per time either because they get obsolete or the people it was meant for have outgrown that particular law. In any case, the power to choose and its consequences, is entirely left for man and that very power, the most potent power given to man, will form the basis on which man will be "judged" by God. Whatever you decide, whichever choice you make and whatever direction you opt to go, never forget that you are accountable for that choice and at the end of the day, that very choice is your noose or lifeline...as Joshua puts it "...CHOOSE YE THIS DAY"
