    ...AND TO THE YOUTHS

Image result for youthDon't take time to really re-cogitate and reevaluate the situation we find ourselves. In fact, don't finish reading this because it is "lengthy and boring". Just get angry for a week or two, type or vent off online or in your corner for two or three days about how we are regarded and addressed by our own President on an international stage. Move on to trending news and continue gallivanting here and there with the juiciest gossip and topics around town after a month. Let this issue "come and go" like the many others we have seen because "no be today we don dey see this things" or "you can't come and go and kill yourself" or "this country is not worth my sweat" or "they will still do what they want to do at the end of the day". Continue giving the likes of Mr. President the reasons to think or say "More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven't been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education for free".
Go to school just because you want to get a degree and that at whatever cost, even if you don't take anything from the school. Sit in your living rooms all day long with your Telemundo, Zee World, BBNaija and know all the foreign soap opera's even though you don't know what role they play in your personal growth or that of the economy. Continue to be a slay queen or king and brag about trending fashion, style and whatever frivolities you indulge in. Continue being "science students" with your Codeine and other concoctions that tickles your fantasies and gives you ecstasy. Continue in your show offs and "betterment games", continue undermining the efforts of each other to get to the top either out of jealousy, envy or greed.
Please continue in the path of the "Elders" whose ways, patterns and attitudes brought us here in the first place. Continue to allow religious, regional, cultural, tribal and emotional sentiments cloud your judgment and common sense, continue choosing sides and condemning those who do not share your side, opinions, sentiments and desires and  by all means criticize and condemn me for attacking your "favorite things" or "lifestyle" and and not being "holy enough to state facts" or lacking the moral standing to state all the above.
One thing I know for sure, whatever side you are on, whether you fall among the "haves" or the "havenots", the ruler or the rulee, we breathe same air, suffer same lack of power (even if you have a generator on 24hours operations), go through same bad roads and live in the same "corrupt" country. And as far as we don't wake up to address this issues as "60 percent under 30", we will always be perceived as uneducated and lazy by the "elders", irrespective of the fact that we have and are still striving to clear their mess and are among the most dedicated, hardworking and educated "60 percent" on the surface of the earth.
To be honest, Mr. President just challenged us and we have to scream "Bring it ON"
    ...WAKE UP.
