SEE...
Magicians and their acts usually fascinates us (or maybe just me) when I was a little kid and I often spend days trying to figure out which move or moves produced that awesome display and sometimes my parents threaten to bring a magician home to remove a part of my body as performance whenever I was not behaving, and that does the 'magic' because the fear and thrill we get around magicians. Some years down the line, with the help of 'behind the scenes' productions and growth, I no longer get that awe neither do I get that thrill when I see magicians, in fact when they are performing, I look out for the move that produces the tricks and try to explain to those who don't know exactly what is going on because I am now older and wiser and I see things from a better perspective and so I can now threaten my kids with what I know holds no water with the hope that it works (and it seldom fails), so the cycle continues and year in year out, generations come and go but the magicians never seem to leave instead they interestingly transform themselves by inventing and adding new tricks to the books and that still, albeit few times, marvels and intrigues even the old. Be it Houdini, Copperfield, Criss Angel or the local magicians in our cities, men of all walks of life are kept spell bound when this magicians perform and the talks, thoughts and puzzles they leave behind fuels the very vehicle they will use to create another trick while the last one is yet to be unraveled, they do so with so much precision and perfection so much so that the 'entertained' discovers that there are piles of mystery to solve with little or no time. Each time the entertained gets to the brink of discovering the secret of the magician, a new trick is presented to him thus distracting him from the first, he starts focusing on the new and much more interesting magic and it leaves him with a new mission unaccomplished. The magician surely knows his trick and that is worth doffing a hat for, even if the rabbit is going to fall out.
The simple secret of the magician as everyone knows but few obey is illusion, the art of making something appear as if it is, yet it is not. The creation of 'mind blowing' mirage that almost always take one's breath away. The magician will do all he can to ensure that you look but don't see, he makes sure you are watching because that gives him the power and authority he craves, yet he does all within him to ensure you don't see when he swaps the blade for a piece of cloth. He casts the spell so well that you will be drawn so close yet you remain very far away. He does that because he knows that once you see, you will know and once you know, his ticket sales go down like the assistants he folds, his fame disappears right before his eyes just like he used to disappear before yours and that means he can't cast his spells on you thus making him powerless over you and your generations because you have broken the cycle that the he never wants you to. If and only if we all can see...I dare you to SEE...
