    MY NIGERIA...PT V

    MY "MINORITIES"

Finally, where are my "minorities"? The Tiv, Idoma, Igala, Ebira, Okun,Aagatu, Etulo, Zuru, Bura, Marghi, Gbagyi, Mada, Eggon, Plateau, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno and Taraba (and their numerous tribes)...I hail oh but when will you stop accepting and acting as "minority"? When will you wake up and realize that you are "majority" only during elections and suddenly become "minority" in policy making and "sharing formula"? When will you stop the hypocritical living your ancestors practiced (blowing the pipe to whoever paid the highest)? Having no conviction or steadfast cause...going wherever the wind blows and allowing the so called "majority" sow seed of "religious bigotry and discord" among you? When will you set a target and stick to it till it is achieved? When will you start helping each other achieve an aim? When will you stop "tribal crisis", farm disputes and extended family feuds? When will you decide within yourselves to raise one leader without his brother coming out in protest? When will you decide that enough is enough to the marginalization you are and have been subjected to all along? When will your son/daughter who grew up in the Mambila plateau, the Mandara valley, the Maiduguri basin, the  Lokoja hills and rock or the Benue troughs contest for the presidency of this country and win without being victimized? Why will you be categorized as "Hausa" when it comes to recognition? When will you stop being servants to your fellow Nigerians just because you are "minor"? When will the son of a Bachama hunter, a Tangale farmer or a Marghi fisherman  lead this country? When will you stop "licking ass" and servitude just to "get bye"? When will you get an office and ensure you put your brother who in most cases is qualified? You don't because "he is not my tribe, ethnic group" or "not from my state" yet you share a "minority" tag together. You say "no one helped you get to where you are" but is that not why you are there? To help others get there?

When will you open your eyes and head to the realities around you? You've been a target and still a target from both left, right and center and your only chance of survival is to get and stay together, but will you? No, instead you sell each other just to get "favors" for that which is originally yours by right but because you are "minor" it is considered a "favor". When will you say no to being treated as a second class citizen?

When will you stop being the prey or being the victim? When will you unite, grow fangs and strike as one? You are blessed with a lot of natural resources, Iron Ore in Kogi, Tin, Copper (and others too numerous to mention) spread across in Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, and Taraba States. You have the largest arable lands for agriculture in the Nation yet they lay bare because you are "minority" and you accept and think like that. What else do you lack? Unity...when you say no to being treated as a "minor", you can seat on the throne... Use your numerous Professors, Engineers, Lawyers, Doctors and all professionals to your advantage. Learn to invest in your youths too because that is where the future begins.

So many people, so much resources (natural and human) but not unity of purpose...Shame! Shame!! Shame!!!

Note: Someone please tell your "Excellencies" to stop the "fulani herdsmen" massacre and tell them to stop eating your future away. Don't forget to tell the "Directors, Permanent Secretaries" in Abuja to start looking home for their investments... "minorities", it's morning, time to make it "major" and loud...wake up
