FATHERHOOD...PT I

THE ROOT

History tells a tale of a slave merchant in the US who had the most physically well-structured male slaves who were equally hard working in the Pennsylvania region so his farm was naturally the most successful in the entire state. 

His fame got so far and wide that he started hiring out his 'merchandise' out to fellow farmers (male slaves were traditionally castrated before being sent off to farms although some were left intact). It also in record that both male and female slave owners used their slaves for sexual gratification so much so that some male slaves were used as sexual slaves of their gay male owners while some "service" their madams but the most common is the female slaves with their male owners, all these are of course different from "Buck Breaking" (a tradition where a defiant male slave is molested and raped by his male master in front of everyone including his wife and children so as to instill obeisance and fear in all present-a scapegoat kind of ritual) .

The farmer made so great a fortune by 'hiring out' his slaves that he came up a 'NEW IDEA' into the 'business' and it was simple, PROCREATION (if his 'boys' have such wonderful genes, it can be transferred over generations and much more money will come in) and so it was set, his 'MERCHANDISE' will travel to a particular farm, get the female slaves there pregnant then move on to the next farm, they literally became sex slaves. This went on for a long time, to the extent that the boys started enjoying their 'NEW JOBS' and even started brokering their own deal without the knowledge of their master (side cash you can say), the practice subsequently spread to other regions and states. They eventually became 'SEED DISTRIBUTORS' and were not HELD RESPONSIBLE for WHATEVER CHILD they LEFT behind. A single slave could father over a hundred kids (famous of all was Burt, who fathered over two hundred children) who themselves are born into slavery because the law then was clear that any child born by a slave, male or female, automatically becomes a slave alongside their parents. This became a 'BOOMING BUSINESS' among 'AGILE FREEMEN' even after the 13th AMENDMENT under the ABE LINCOLN administration. Freemen started traveling all over the States, "doing business" and leaving future "businessmen" with their mothers.

Centuries down the line, this ugly 'IDEA' created a great rot that encroached American culture, values and morals, a lot of KIDS grew up without a father (most of them never knew or met their father while some just hear tales about their father) and their mothers often have different 'DONORS' so you can get seven kids with same mother but different 'SIRES' (that is what they were, Sires). Unfortunately, what stated as a 'business idea' became embedded into the DNA and has SPREAD WORLDWIDE by virue of EXPLORATION, TRAVEL, MISSIONARY WORK, CONTRACTING etc. Different races and peoples started having those "businessmen" as natural or neutralized citizens, they are a part of the community, they can be married to one or two wives but will still Sire children outside without taking care of any. 

In this day and age, we still SUFFER from this deadly 'BUSINESS IDEA' because we are yet to recover from the DAMAGE DONE while we still have those 'DONORS' who are keeping the 'BUSINESS ALIVE'. Examples are all around us. Certainly, we are all in one way or the other affected by this 'CURSE' and we are not even aware because we can't spot the dot behind our head.

An idea became a lifestyle to many over time and it became 'NORMAL' for a father not to care for the welfare and general well being of his children, it is even accepted as a custom among many cultures for the Father to leave the caring and welfare of the family to the mother-it is in fact a right by culture to be IRRESPONSIBLE. Now, being responsible goes beyond providing food, shelter and clothing, it entails way more than paying 'school fees' and buying 'toys and things'. A fatherhood is more than being 'AGILE' is means being a Beacon, an Icon, a leader, mentor, teacher, defender, guide/counselor, coach, confidant/friend and spiritual head of the family. Difficult as each of those tasks may sound, with determination, diligence and grace, it is possible. And because from the slave days till now there are fathers who fit into what fatherhood truly is, it is possible to nurture another 'IDEA' that will counteract the first. Certainly we cannot decode this out of our DNA but we override it with a new CODE, TRUE FATHERHOOD.
