    NOTE TO SELF.

Last week, I was having a chat with one of my supervisors about what we saw on his screen some minutes earlier, it was the resume of one young man, that guy has about eighteen certifications, is a member of over thirteen international professional bodies and you don't want to know the rest. We were discussing about other greats in the industry and out. those who have defied odds and still shine. He highlighted on how to add value and the effort required to attain such feat. I was so motivated and after all was said, he concluded by telling me "with time and effort, we will get there". That inspired this note I am writing to myself.

    Dear Future Isaac Great,

I hope this note meets you in good time and everything is moving good.
I know you think you have a lot on your plate right now but I also hope you know there are others out there who have more to trash than you and yet they don't seem to rest or stop till they clear it all. Learn from them. Never relent till you have a clean plate.
You will come across people, some good, some bad and some damn ugly, they all are meant to serve a purpose in your life. Learn the lessons each one comes with. Try to make all of them smile (even if they have to fake it) and never underrate or underestimate the power of people and the role they are designed to play on your road to greatness.
I hope by now you have learn't the power of being yourself, original and unique, I also hope you've mastered speaking for what you believe in when necessary and understand the beauty of silence.
I want to believe you've built your library and it is about to surpass the library of Congress, if not, keep at it. Read as much as you can for that is the secret of the wise and learned. Never stop to rest on the way, there will be enough time to rest when you reach your destination.
Your opinions and ideology may get you into trouble but always remember, "people who make history are never conventional". Stick to what you believe but be spontaneous and open so you can become better. Listen, watch and never turn down advise (but master discernment and build a filter for those), you'll be amazed at what you learn.
Just as technology gets updated and upgraded on a daily basis, you also ought to get a new version everyday. Update yourself on every ground and also learn what not to add to your system, viruses abound too.
Always stay humble and be kind, you did not bring yourself to where you are neither are you in-charge of where you are going to. Apologize when wrong and try not to repeat mistakes. Help as many as you can and don't expect anything in return, do it as unto God.
It is foolish and rottenness of the bones to envy, learn to be genuinely glad and happy for the good happening to others, "...time and chance happeneth to them all"
Never give up but know when it is a fools errand to keep at anything. Know when to quit.
Take time to laugh, love and always be happy, your soul and spirit needs it.
In all these, be like the sons of Issachar "who had the understanding of the times and knew what Israel ought to do". If you get this one thing, every other thing will fall in place, including Wisdom and wealth because "to everything, there is a time".
    P.S
Without God, you are pretty much dust and ashes. Never let go of Him.
    Your Old Self,
    Isaac Great
