I bet you've heard "Ignorance is bliss" over a zillion times from the time you were thought word formation, idiomatic expression and proverbs, if so then you just reduced my write-up by a million words.

Growing up came with a lot of reading and learning so I was basically a curious kid from childhood and I asked a lot of questions. Till date, the curiosity seem not to disappear although I've managed to put it on check. Recently, I came across a book I still can't get out of my head (in my defense, I love to read and have learn't early never to judge a book by its cover or title because you never can tell what is embedded within). So, this book was against everything good and nice, it was, in my humble conclusion, written by a very damaged and depressed fellow who is yet to forgive life for whatever befell him. I managed to finish reading it because I like to finish stuff, even though Candy Crush Saga seem to have no end. I tried to see things from the writers perspective, I tried to understand where he is coming from and where he intends going with his life (certainly not his writing because that book ain't pointing anywhere I will advise anyone to follow), so don't even bother asking what book it is. It's disturbing to know people like that author still exists and are even bold enough to share their views. Don't forget that we are facing global challenges on everything front because as JFK said, quoting Edmund Burke "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing". The 'enlightened, knowledgeable and good' men we have not only do nothing but add to the problem by making research and discoveries available for the evil ones whose main aim is to do without thinking or asking, how can someone wake up one day and decide he wants to die and he must take others along? (Well, that is a topic for another day).
I got my head messed up when I started to think about what could have motivated such a book and I got to a point where I was either headed for doom or I let everything pertaining that book and all go. Thank God I chose the latter but unfortunately for me, no one unlearns, or unread and even 'unknow' things except to forget which is rare when it comes to books and life (school books and others related to the academics can be exempted from this I guess). I now see why my mom cautioned against some books while growing up, even though curiosity got the best of me on some of them.
Bringing it home; Guard your mind and spirit from all things coming in either by hearing, seeing/reading and even perception because the 'delete' button only exits on a keyboards and control consoles, not your mind and spirit. Censor what you hear, see, read and the perceive. It forms whatever goes on in your mind and spirit which by extension means your life/livelihood and believe you me, most of those things stick harder than super glue.
Ignorance my friend is indeed bliss (okay, maybe not in all cases but it certainly is). Besides one cannot know and figure it all out, some lands are better left unexplored, some things are better not found or discovered and other things are better left locked up in the Pandora's Box.
I like the way Thomas Gray puts it "where Ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise"
